In Greene County district court Robert John William Gilmore, 39, of Jefferson was sentenced Dec. 19 to two days in jail, with credit for time served, after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of possession of marijuana. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow any recommendations. A judgment was entered for a $430 fine with a $64.50 surcharge. He must pay an amount not to exceed $500 restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees. Court costs were $100. (Sentencing: Honorable Joseph B. McCarville)
Alan Kenneth Jensen, 67, of Jefferson was granted a deferred judgment after he changed his plea to guilty to a charge of operating while intoxicated. He was placed on probation to Boone/Greene County Probation for one year. He must undergo a substance abuse evaluation and complete any or all recommendations at his own expense. He must also complete a drinking drivers school. Jensen must pay a $1,250 civil penalty; one-half will be waived if he obtains a temporary restricted license. Court costs were $100. Donald Shannon Fishburn, 53, of Jefferson was sentenced to six days in jail after he pleaded guilty to a charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness, amended from domestic abuse assault- injury or mental illness, two counts. The jail time is consecutive to the sentence in another Greene County case. A judgment was entered for a $430 fine with a $64.50 surcharge. The court found him unable to pay restitution for his court appointed attorney’s fees and court costs. (Sentencing: McCarville)
Persons pleaded not guilty at arraignment as follows: Travis Ryan Armstrong, 36, of Scranton, possession of marijuana- third or subsequent offense and possession of methamphetamine- third or subsequent offense; Roger Keith Ketchum Jr, 37, of Jefferson, possession of marijuana- second offense; Brandon Ray, 36, of Boone, burglary- third degree- motor vehicle; Jay Doliver Orsack, 58, of Churdan, assault causing bodily injury or mental illness; and Veronica Laine Ellsbury, 41, of Grand Junction, theft- third degree. A trial date was set for Jan. 27 for Orsack, and for March 3 or all other defendants.
Rebecca Lynn Chumbley, 42, of Grand Junction made her initial appearance Dec. 17 on a charge of possession of marijuana. The case was initiated Nov. 9.
